We are located just onshore from the world famous USAT Liberty ship wreck, one of the best wreck dives in the world. Our local, professional guides will take you to the best dives available in the Tulamben area. Tulamben is a small fishing village located at the north-east coast. It’s among the most beautiful dive sites on Bali, because of the “USAT Liberty Wreck”, lying just off shore and developed to a wonderful coral reef. Beside Tulamben, we can guide you to all other Bali dive spots
Tulamben Dive Sites
Diving in Tulamben allows you to dive on the Liberty wreck and enjoy some great muck dive sites as Seraya or even Batu Belah, Macro lovers come from all over the world to have the chance to see some nudibranchia, harlequinn shrimp, hawksbill, lion fish, clown fish, bumphead fish, and grouper fish! We can also help you capture this exciting experience with a camera. Or just take a selfie.
Dive Sites
There are about 15 unique dive locations accessible from Tulamben. The five listed below are the sites we frequent most often, but we can explore as many as you want – contact us for more details.
USAT Liberty Shipwreck
If a diver must choose a single dive in Tulamben, this is without question the one. A historical curiosity and wonderland of marine life, the Liberty has evolved over the past five decades into a coral-encrusted silhouette of its previous life, teeming with an astounding variety of water dwellers. Vibrant Batfish, ink-black Sturgeon, sea horses, eels, and an enormous school of Jackfish are just some of this regulars that call the Liberty home.
The Drop Off
A collection of submerged lava flows at the southeast tip of Tulamben Bay is commonly known as The Drop Off. With depths exceeding seventy meters, and a drop beginning not far from shore, The Drop Off, along with The Liberty, is considered first-rate diving and another home to stunning aquatic life.
Coral Garden
Between the Liberty and Drop Off is the Coral Garden. It’s a nice long shallow reef that follows the beach for about 150 meters. A great area for photography with an abundance of reef life. Some vary rare sea life can be seen here; Leaf Scorpion Fish, Ribbon Eels, Harlequin Ghost Pipefish and Spanish Dancer Nudibranchs. You can also see large schools of Snapper, Trevally and Sweetlip along with the occasional reef shark.
Seraya Secrets
Right in front of the Seraya resort is what is known locally as the ‘muck dive’. Diving from 3 to 35 meters with a shallow reef and sloping rock bottom. Here you can see Frogfish, Scorpion Fish, Lionfish, Sea Month’s, Harequin Shrimp, cuttlefish, mimic octopus, striped catfishm nudibranchs, micro colored crinoids and large frogfish. There’s no muck here!
Batu Kelebit
Just beyond the jagged coastline of Alam Anda sits a rock cluster known as Batu Kelebit. The dramatic reef drop extends to fifty meters, giving way to a stunning view of local marine life like Barracuda, Sea Cucumbers, and Reef Sharks. A classic coral reef, Batu Kelebit is unique when compared to the black-sand for which Tulamben Bay is well-known, due to the white sands flanking the coral blooms. Batu Kelebit is accessible by jukung and is fitted with a mooring buoy, similar to Alam Anda.

This villa is situated away from the hustle and bustle in a quiet area in a local village. Only 400 meters from the beach and main road to Tulamben with its restaurants and the famous shipwreck the USAT Liberty.
Here you can rent two double rooms and the possibility to rent the entire villa for 6 persons on request. With use of kitchen, refrigerator, garden, private swimming pool and free WiFi, daily cleaning, laundry service and possibility for dinner on request.
Very good mattresses with toppers, 3 double power points in the rooms, hot shower and air conditioning to make it as comfortable as possible for you.
A dive center is located on site for private diving, getting your certificate, refresher course or try scuba.
Never dived? But are you curious about the beautiful underwater world? An introductory dive is the way to get acquainted with the underwater world of Tulamben. Under professional guidance you will take a look underwater and experience an experience you will never forget.
Got my open water license here with Bli Komang. The instructor was really patient and ensure that we equipped with the knowledge and ready to dive in the sea. Will definitely get my advance license and fun dive here again in the future 🥰

It’s amazing how they cater to both novice and experienced divers! Lunch provided, transport arranged from our hotel in Seminyak and even took photos for us, washed our gear and provided full service. Run by locals who are patient and fun. Made some new friends from Taiwan too!
Only suggestion is to have a water cooler so we can reduce plastic bottles and be more environmentally friendly 🙂

Such an amazing, fun, professional experience. Our Dive master, Wayan, was phenomenal! He helped us remain calm while we toured the wreck inside and out in the night and morning. He also brought his professional camera to take photos and videos of us the whole time. Cannot recommend them (and Wayan) enough! The stay was also very clean, comfortable and came with free breakfast. All in we paid a very affordable price for 3 dives, the hotel, & meals. Highly recommend!

Wayan, Rian and all the other staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and accomodating with every... read more interaction. I contacted a few dive shops in Tulamben before arriving; Wayan was very responsive and helpful over instant messenger, while at the same time laid back and accomodating! It was an easy choice. Once we arrived and he showed us to our rooms and said upon leaving, tongue in cheek, "anything you need, just let me know, I treat my customers like kings, you are kings here." Like I said, every single interaction was to put us first, making sure we were looked after, having a good time etc. - 10/10 for hospitality!
Our dive instructor, Rian - excellent English, a very good teacher (I am a teacher myself so you can take my word here), and just a great guy all round. Very approachable and friendly, just like Wayan, and put us first 100% of the time. We felt extremely confident during the briefs, prep, dives etc. and we learned a lot from him! We are much, much better divers now! We enjoyed diving here so much that we did 2 extra fun dives after our course to total 7 dives in three days and I can't pick out a single negative experience!
Once again, so grateful to have done the advanced open water course with this fantastic crew!

Wuyan was a fun and professional dive master that kept us comfortable in the water and ensured our dives went smoothly. He is also very knowledgeable about the aquatic life in the area and would always be pointing out the more unique life on the sites. The accommodations on site were also great! The room and bathroom were clean and had good AC. It was very convenient being right at the dive center and be able to hangout in our room between dives. Would recommend!!

We absolutely loved our snorkeling adventure with Wayan and his team at tulamben dive. We visited the coral gardens and the uss liberty and the scenery was amazing, with thousands... read more of beautiful fish.
We were provided all the necessary gear (mask, snorkel, fins), transit to the diving spots we wanted, coffee/tea/water in between dives, and a designated room for changing and separate toilet. When we had an issue with one of the masks fitting they quickly changed for another one. And during our guided snorkel sessions our guided was frequently checking in to make sure we were all good and enjoying ourselves and helping point us to all the best spots.
We highly recommend this company for anyone looking for a good place to snorkel in tulamben!

Me and my husband visited Tulumben for one night while on Honeymoon so we could experience scuba diving. This company were amazing. The two different diving spots they took us too were both amazing. There was so much stuff to see including the shipwreck!

The divemaster took the time to point out little sea creatures and the different fish/coral which was nice and I was lucky enough to have just the divemaster and myself on both dives, so I very much enjoyed diving as buddies. Pictures and videos are also included which is a lovely memento! Staff are super friendly, experienced and patient.
